The Bastien Console has presence—but in that understated, Parisian way.

Inspired by 17th-century Louis XIII forms and reinterpreted in the mid-20th century (circa 1940s–1950s), this long, narrow table was originally designed for textile shops—built to measure, fold, and work. Today, it’s just as useful behind a sofa or stretching down a hallway.

The scalloped apron adds a soft, almost playful rhythm, while the bobbin-turned legs keep things grounded in tradition. Finished in a deep ebonized tone, it carries a quiet drama that makes everything placed on top feel more intentional.

Functional history, with just enough edge.

Why We Love It:
• Long, narrow proportions perfect for hallways or behind sofas
• Sculptural scalloped detailing that adds movement
• Ebonized finish for contrast and depth
• A historic form that feels surprisingly modern

Pairs Well With:
• A row of ceramics or collected objects
• Oversized artwork leaning casually above
• Entryways that deserve a proper moment

Care Instructions

Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth.

Cleaners are not recommended as they may contain chemicals which could be harmful to the natural finish.
